I have not seen it, but the author was a respected British painter, lived his mature life in an artists' enclave in Hampstead,London, called Mall Studios, Parkhill Road. He was amongst the very first British abstract artists, married to another artist called Kathleen Guthrie whose work was in a 'sophisticated naive' style. His son lived in Scotland.
