A man named John

About this book

The complete biography of Pope John XXIII, from his obscure birth to the tragedy of his untimely death. Vividly re-creates the life of an extraordinary figure, a Pope who blended diplomatic grace with the simplicity of a peasant; concern and frienship for the poor or weak and their daily problems with a deep involvement in and understanding of contemporary world politics and international relations; and care for his Catholic children with a consuming desire for the ultimate union of all creeds.
