The two most important properties of type II superconductors are the disappearance of the electrical resistance below the superconducting transition temperature Tc and the special magnetic properties in an applied magnetic field H including perfect diamagnetism at low fields and the penetration of quantized magnetic flux (vortices or flux lines) at higher fields.
