Bloodland

About this book

"A helicopter crash kills six random passengers off the coast of Ireland. A mercenary working for a private security contractor in the Congo starts a bloody gun battle, endangering the valuable package he is assigned to protect. An Irish politician makes a risky gambit to revive his career, while protecting one of his darkest secrets. The last thing Jimmy Gilroy, a hungry young Dublin journalist, expected when hired to write a hack biography of a dead starlet was a Pulitzer-worthy scoop. Soon, however, he stumbles upon a bizarre nexus of coincidence between his subject and these disparate people and events around the world, a real story of frightening reach and consequence--one that could cost him his life. Set against a vividly drawn world of commerce, corrupt politics, and international intrigue, Alan Glynn's Bloodland is a riveting paranoid thriller of uncommon depth and page-turning suspense. "--
