Carlo Maria Mariani in the twenty-first century

About this book

"Carlo Maria Mariani is internationally renowned for his inimitable style, unique vision, and unparalleled technical skill. One of the most original and challenging artists of the second half of the twentieth century, Mariani continues to produce provocative and groundbreaking works that could very well change the course of art in the twenty-first century. An artist attuned with his time, Mariani demonstrates a deep understanding of art’s venerable past while he embodies the avant-garde in painting today. Intriguing, suggestive, and well-written, this monograph includes an in-depth essay by the critic David Ebony plus insightful introductory texts by art-world experts and critics Robert Pincus-Witten and Italo Tomassoni, which situate Mariani’s work at the pinnacle of contemporary painting."--Publisher description.
