Black defenders of America, 1775-1973

About this book

"This partial account of Negro military personnel in the armed forces from 1775 until 1973 is presented as a reference and guide for those who want to learn the truth about America's neglected black soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen. Using pictures and documented biographies, an attempt has been made to illustrate the black American's presence in past and present wars"--Pref.
