She Speaks

About this book

Do you know how important you are to God? As African-American women we don't always see ourselves in the Bible and think that maybe God left us out. She Speaks reveals God's heart for you through the women that He used in the Bible to tell the good news of Jesus Christ. You will find, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, that God disregarded the lowly place where man had placed the worth of women, and instead found in them friends, apostles, mothers, prophets, disciples, and martyrs. Even the Bible's portrayal of villainous women can teach you how to be imitators of Christ. Through the examples of powerful women in the Bible, some of them of African descent, She Speaks helps African-American women find relevance, purpose, and identity in the Word of God. Each chapter offers a complete list of Bible references to help the reader locate the stories of these inspirational women in the Bible with ease. As God speaks through each of these women, you will find yourself right at the center of God's love. For anyone looking for a deeper study of the women of the Bible She Speaks is the perfect choice. Includes clear explanations of parallels between struggles of modern African-American women and women in the Bible--Back cover.
