A Deceptive Bequest

About this book

Two Ladies, One Gentleman...One Merry Mix-Up... — Facing a deadly dull future as a governess, foundling Ashley Douglas hasn't an inkling that she has a twin sister named Alcida Blayne -- a London dancehall singer -- until she meets the rakish Marquess of Damon. The dashing Damon is delighted to see Alcida on a rural lane and dismayed when she pushes him into the river for attempting to steal a kiss. Imagine his astonishment when he discovers that "Alcida" is not Alcida at all! Never mind. He's smitten; she's bedazzled. But he's a lord above Ashley's station. Is their romance impossible? Not when Ashley finally meets her long-lost sister and engages in a daring deception that may lead either to scandal -- or to lasting love.
