The Paul Simon companion

About this book

Since Paul Simon's first hit in the days of doo-wop - "Hey Schoolgirl," recorded in 1957 with Art Garfunkel - Simon has proved to be a musical icon who is also an insatiable explorer of musical styles, collaborators, and genres. Readers will relive the folk-rock phenomenon of Simon and Garfunkel; Simon's forays into gospel, reggae, plenas, ska, and umbaqanga; the many voices, musical and otherwise, of Graceland; and his work in the recording studio, in film, on television, and soon, on the Broadway stage - in this illuminating collection of essays, articles, and reviews gathered from the last four decades.
