Scientific excellence

About this book

"Scientific Excellence highlights the need for research into the processes that facilitate the generation, systematization and transmission of knowledge. The contributors -- eminent researchers in the field -- assess the present state of the discipline and give directions for future research. The volume covers a variety of important concerns, including: the understanding of cognitive and noncognitive determinants of scientific creativity in order to increase scientific productivity; the need to understand the socio-cultural matrix in which knowledge is accumulated and disseminated; and the importance of both environmental and personal influences upon continued productivity"--Publisher description.
