A Gift to America

About this book

"Samuel Kress made an extraordinary gift to the nation of his outstanding collection of paintings and sculpture. This book is the catalog for an exhibition that celebrated this gift by reuniting a number of the choicest paintings that are now dispersed to many museums across the country. There is a compelling introduction that tells the story of the collection and how the Kress gift came to be, followed by a detailed catalog featuring an excellent color reproduction of each painting in the exhibition"--Amazon
