The new indicators of well-being and development

About this book

"The growth of GDP remains the principal focus of attention when it comes to judging the progress of the 'wealth of nations': however other attempts have been made, most of them since the 1990s, to enlarge such a narrow vision. New indicators of development, well-being, social health, or ecological footprint are presented in this volume as alternative methods of reassessing the growing gap between well-being and wealth. They show that ongoing growth might be detrimental to social health and destroy vital natural resources."--BOOK JACKET.
