Bureaucracy and the alternatives in world perspective

About this book

"Bureaucracy is a term used both to characterise a particular type of organisational structure (centralised, hierarchic, specialised) and to criticise it (slow, inefficient, cumbersome). The theme of this book is bureaucracy and the alternatives to it in the developing world. The central focus is government bureaucracy (more kindly labelled 'Public Administration') and a full range of options to the status quo, many of them outside the realm of the conventional."--BOOK JACKET.
