MEETINGS WITH REMARKABLE MUSLIMS: A COLLECTION; ED. BY BARNABY ROGERSON

About this book

Meetings with Remarkable Muslims is a collection of personal reminiscences of friendships and chance encounters which have left an indelible mark on the memory of the author. Throwing a bridge across the cultural divide, it shows how immeasurably richer our lives are for sharing different cultural traditions what a source of inspiration they can be. This diverse collection of writers, a number of whom would normally describe themselves as something quite other sculptor, film-maker, development consultant draws together a world which stretches from Morocco in the west to India in the east, and which encompasses campaigners, drivers, professors, museum curators, single mothers, nomads, embroiderers, smugglers and widows. What shines through is our common humanity the need, indeed the urge, to earn, to love, to protect, to enjoy and to make sense of life.
