A living soul

About this book

A disturbing phone call sends Dr. Serena Van Buren into the nighttime wilderness in search of Kirby Acuff, a suicidal teenager. Serena discovers that Kirby is crying out against the abortion her parents forced on her two years ago--a procedure they will demand again when they discover she is once more pregnant. Working alongside Dr. Carson Tanner, Serena finds her own secret pain bubbling to the surface. Serena knows God can forgive Kirby, but she wonders if God will forgive her. And how will Carson handle the confession she must make before they can explore the growing feelings between them? Can Serena and Carson deal with the past in time to deal with a present threat to her free clinic--and her own adopted daughters?
