The custody wars

About this book

"In The Custody Wars Mary Ann Mason, one of the country's foremost family law experts, argues for the restoration of children's rights to the foreground of the custody debate. Mason tackles some of the toughest questions facing the courts today." "Should an abusive husband be given custody of his child? What about unwed fathers? Gay parents? Full-time working mothers? How much say should young children have in court?" "The Custody Wars is the first Book to construct a framework for considering all custody issues from a children's perspective and to offer proposals for changing the way disputes are settled. Drawing on a wealth of legal cases and psychological research - as well as the stories of families caught in these disputes - Mary Ann Mason presents a bold program for reform."--Jacket.
