About this book

**English**: At the end of the 18th century, Spain, by virtue of the Treaty of San Ildefonso, had been forced to support revolutionary France in its fight against England. In this way, the great fleet of the Spanish Armada was involved in a succession of battles of unequal outcome, wasting ships and lives in a war that was not theirs. Martin Alvarez was one of many soldiers who fought in that war. This is the story of how a brave man ended up fighting to defend his honor and that of his people, earning the respect of his enemies.
