1816-17 schufen die Maler des 'Lukasbundes' um J.F. Overbeck die Fresken in der 'Casa Bartholdy' (Palazzo Zuccari, heute Bibliotheca Hertziana) in Rom. Ihre Joseph-Szenen riefen grosse Bewunderung hervor. Sie führten zur Ausschmückung eines Traktes des Casino Massimo mit Episoden aus Torquato Tassos 'Befreitem Jerusalem' durch Overbeck und Joseph Führich 1819-29.
