This book differs from his first one, Living in the land of Nod in that these stories are for mature readers. Major disasters, on a national scale occur only minutes behind them. They ultimately find rest in the wilds of Alaska. Weare told several anecdotes of a friend who's humor was timely, unique and ubiquitous. These anecdotes enriched the lives of all whom they touched. The final story, "balancing Act", tells of the peripatetic life of the author with insights into each stop.
