Magical Tome

"Despite much increased media coverage, Social Credit remains a mystery to most New Zealanders, including as Mike Sheppard demonstrates, the vast majority of the League's own members. Apart from the charismatic Bruce Beetham, the Social Credit Political League's leaders, strategists and thinkers are obscure and shadowy figures. Likewise the Social Credit economic theory, while often exhalted by League spokesmen and just as often deried by political opponents, is very seldom described and has never before, to my knowledge, been subjected to an analysis which is at the same time impartial and comprehensive to the lay person. Mike Sheppard's purpose has been to open up the whole topic of Social Credit for public scrutiny and evaluation. Until such scrutiny and evaluation have taken place Social Credit cannot really be regarded as a fully mature political entity of the same stature as the Labour and National Parties." -- Back cover.
