"The book would deal with anti-poverty policy initiatives undertaken during the Pearson/Trudeau years, in particular the proposal for a General Annual Income (GAI), the establishment of the anti-poverty think tank Praxis (whose decade and Inter Press Service since 1996, particularly in the areas of Canadian politics, local politics, foreign/defense policy and culture. The focus of the book would be on the shift in the political conversation about poverty under neoliberalism. It would be of particular interest to readers in this environment where there is increasing economic inequality, greater poverty and political alienation as more and more jobs are lost to automation."--
