Under the general umbrella heading of criminal law policy, this book discusses the relationship between penal legislation, penology and criminal justice. This relationship has been increasingly neglected in recent years. Therefore, the contributions compiled here aim above all to remind penologists about this relationship, and in particular to draw their attention to its function and significance in terms of democratic criminal law.
