About this book

Sir Tom Finney looks back on a remarkable career in football that spanned the golden era of legendary players like Matthews, Mortensen, Lofthouse and Lawton. He brings to life the personalities who shaped the post-war boom in English football. However, this is only a fragment of Finney's story. He talks about his mother's death when he was just four years old, his war service, his second career as a businessman and his marriage to Elsie. An outstanding ambassador for the sport, his opinions are given with the authority of one of the all time greats.
