Out of the depths

About this book

"Ludmila Javorova may not be the only Roman Catholic woman priest since the first century, but she is the first to tell her story publicly. This book is the authorized biography documenting her struggle to live her priesthood with integrity amidst the restricted framework of the tradition and the times.". "Out of the Depths is a testimony of one woman's determination and spirituality. Led by the Spirit to accept ordination, she tells how she lived into a deeper understanding of what it means to be a priest, sharing insights that will enrich us all. Ordained in 1970, Javorova was vicar-general of a major branch of the underground Czech church for twenty years. The collapse of the iron curtain in 1990 also ended her priestly activities at the command of Rome, and she obeyed."--BOOK JACKET.
