This publication on Belgian artist Guy Van Bossche (b. 1958) shows a selection of older key works in dialogue with recent works on canvas and paper, and brings together the artist?s career from over three decades. His canvases and works on paper are often based on photos from magazines, newspapers and photo books. The alienation expressed in his canvases is closely related to their desolate, bleak color scheme, the often unusual framing and a general resistance to narrative interpretation.
