Maldonado

About this book

"Just like in a family photo album, every photograph in this book tells a story--an outline of a historical episode and a description of an individual. Viewing these images from the perspective of the present helps us note the passage of time and appreciate the lives lived by previous generations from Maldonado. In these pages we can find out about the origins of soccer, the evolution of various means of transportation, the construction of well-known buildings, and even the crimes that impacted society. The book also includes memories of famous visitors and the words of our poets. Marcos Salaberry relates one hundred stories from the last century that illustrate what it means to be from the Department of Maldonado"--back cover.
