Jetta Goudal earns millions of dollars in the Roaring Twenties by today's standards. She is Charlie Chaplin's neighbor, has a driver, is sometimes dazed by drugs on the set, is admitted to a sanatorium five times after a nerve attack and marries a gay man in The Dirty Thirties. Because of her assertiveness, she ends up on a blacklist and brings three lawsuits against powerful studio bosses.
