Die Virgilkapelle ist einer der besterhaltenen gotischen Innenräume in Wien. Ihre Anfänge reichen bis ins 13. Jahrhundert zurück, als man einen Kapellenbau im frühgotischen Stil errichten wollte. In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Stephansdom gelegen, wurde sie 1972 im Zuge des U-Bahn-Baues wieder entdeckt. Diese im Auftrag des Wien Museums erstellte Publikation gibt auf Basis neuester wissenschaftlicher Forschungen Einblicke in die Baugeschichte und die historische Bedeutung des faszinierenden Sakralraums.
