Santiago Calatrava is not only one of the world's most prominent architects, but also an engineer and an artist. With recent projects such as the stadiums for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens or the new railway station in Liège , Belgium, he has reached a level of undeniable notoriety in Europe and continues to move further ahead. Santiago Calatrava received the commission to design the new Liège-Guillemins station, located on the train line that connects Paris, Brussels and Cologne, largely because of his experience in the field. in projects such as the Lyon-Salolas and the Lisbon Oriente Stations. Much as he had in Lisbon, he conceived the station as a link between two distinct areas of the city of Liège, which previously had been separated by the railway tracks.
