The architect Heinrich Metzendorf (1866-1923) is best known as one of the planners and designers of Art Nouveau-inspired villas in Bensheim along the mountain road between Heidelberg and Darmstadt. The exhibition gives an insight into the multifaceted work of an architect in the artistic upheaval around 1900, documented by numerous drawings and designs as well as historic photographs from the Bensheim city archives.
