To save the Leaning Tower of Pisa from further leaning and eventual collapse, the Italian government appointed a scientific committee to devise a solution. This program documents the committee's activities in the 1990s: discussions, building and soil analyses, and controversial answers to the structure's ongoing decline, from the weights placed on the rising north side in 1993 to the 1999 soil extraction procedure.
