A Rogue's Revenge

About this book

When Sarah Kittling's family falls upon hard times, only an influx of money will sustain their position in Bath society. In desperation, Sarah puts her fertile imagination to work fabricating A ROGUE's TALE -- an account of the amorous exploits of one Lord Gaventry. No one knows that she is the author of the popular novel or its soon-to-be released sequel. Yet despite her success, not a day goes by that Sarah doesn't regret her boldness. She fears to imagine what the real Lord Gaventry thinks of his fictional portrayal.... Outrageous! What manner of female would be so completely lacking in principle as to actually put his life in print! Lord Gaventry means to pursue the wretched authoress, to flatter her and win her, then put her in a position of complete compromise, afterward abandoning her to the mercy of the gabblemongers as any self-respecting rogue would do. But he never expects to fall in love with her....
