Jacob Rutten (ca.1555-ca.1635) lived in Kessenich, Belgium. John-Renier Rutten (1854-1904), a direct descendant in the eighth generation, immigrated to Larchwood, Iowa in 1880, and married Maria-Gertrude Clercx in 1889 (some of his brothers and sisters also immigrated). Descendants lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Utah and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Ontario and elsewhere in Canada. Includes genealogical data on ancestors to the 1500s in Belgium.
