About this book

This issue reviews the political, cultural and economic imagery present in contemporary art practices regarding demographic migration phenomena and various displacements: not only the displacement of populations forced to move within their own territory, but also to those that move into different cultural, symbolic, or linguistic spaces. Related to the Colombian and the Latin American context, the debates presented in the in the Colloquium Errata #5 were expanded by involving the perspective of some artists (Hannah Collins (England), Manuela Ribadeneira (Ecuador), María Rosa Jijón (Ecuador), Omar Pimienta (México), and Colombians: Carolina Caycedo, Fernando Arias, Juan Fernando Herrán and Kevin Mancera) who have actively worked the theme in their production and research from their work in cinema, literature and the visual arts; and then, linking these debates of artistic practice on migration with those studies on social sciences and cultural and visual studies.
