The ‘Indignatio in poetas Neronianorum temporum’ (first printed here at pp. 194-197), although an obvious imitation, was later treated as the work of the Roman satirist Turnus, and W. Speyer (Die literarische Fälschung im heidnischen und christlichen Altertum: ein Versuch ihrer Deutung. Munich, 1971, p. 320) among others regards Guez de Balzac as its forger. J.-M.
