The first edition of this work by the Shakespeare forger William Henry Ireland (1777-1835), posthumously published from a surviving manuscript. This manuscript was acquired from Ireland’s unpublished Nachlass by a speculating agent who sold it to the best-selling novelist G.P.R. James.
