"The neoclassical theories that underlie the neo-liberal analysis of the economy, have been harshly criticized. Economists are deeply divided today. Economic expertise has been exhausted for its management of the 2008 crisis. Yet these diatribes have not shaken the prevailing belief in the scientific nature of the discipline. It is that it deploys an effect of scientificity, based on its mathematization, on the resulting effect of transparency, and on the infalsifiable nature of economic modeling, which rules out the denials inflicted by the practice.
