The message of Philo Judaeus of Alexandria

The outer archives are busy

by Kenneth Sylvan Guthrie

About this book

PHILO (Judaeus) was probably born B. C. 20, in Alexandria, of a sacerdotal family and taught the usual Jewish instruction, though he uses none but the Septuagint version of the Scriptures, with all its variations from the Hebrew, and hence apparently poorly trained in Hebrew (Scaliger, Cudworth, Geiger).
