Beyond Stanislavsky

About this book

"At the time of Stanislavsky's death, one of the most important things he was working on was an advanced approach to actor training which became known as Psycho-Physical Acting." "Though well-known - and much-taught - in Russia, Psycho-Physical Acting is in its infancy in the rest of the world. Bella Merlin has studied under three of the best teachers in Russia; this book is the fruit of her time there. The book takes the reader through a course in the new system, but because it is infused with the author's personal experience it is never a dry set of instructions, though every chapter comes complete with exercises."--BOOK JACKET.
