Jane's Radar & Electronic Warfare Systems 2004-2005 (Jane's Radar and Electronic Warfare Systems)

About this book

In the wake of the 11 September 2001 suicide attack that destroyed the World Trade Center in New York and in the light of Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) attacks on commercial aircraft (such as the weapon fired at an Israeli Boeing 757 at Mombassa during November 2002 and the damaging (by an SA-7 Grail round) of a DHL A300B4 freighter taking off from Baghdad International Airport on 22 November 2003), serious consideration is being given to the introduction of appropriate countermeasures systems aboard airliners and VIP aircraft.
