George Washington

About this book

The best biography will not only tell of his words and deeds, but will also proclaim his influence and its ever growing power. That will never pass away from the nation he has founded, for his greatest gift to the United States and to the world was himself -- a manhood dedicated to God and to the service of his fellow men. That spiritual influence has purified ideals, has improved morals, has molded thought, has formed character, has controlled conduct as no other human influence has done in all the nation's existence. Because it was spiritual when he hoped and prayed and toiled for his country, so always even more and more strongly will the people of his dreams feel the spiritual strength and power and inspiration of George Washington. - Introduction.
