The Richmond Otey, Ringgold, and Davidson Batteries were three independent artillery companies raised in the spring of 1862 and saw action in southwestern Virginia, eastern Tennessee and finally with Robert E. Lee's army in northern Virginia. These batteries were part of the 13th Virginia Battalion of Light Artillery.
