This text is designed to bridge the gap between the way mechanics is taught to engineering and physics students and those in kinesiology, physical education and the rehabilitation sciences. In the past, students who wanted to study biomechanics had to study engineering mechanics or the physics of optics, wave motion and electrodynamics. Here all the mechanics principles are taught with human movement or anatomical examples along with the necessary mathematics and physics. Two-dimensional movements are presented along with the mathematical tools applicable to handle three-dimensional movements in future courses. Every chapter has many numerical problems along with answers to odd-numbered questions.
