The Netherlands

About this book

Architecture has always been embraced by the Dutch on a social as well as cultural basis, while enthusiasm for the new and a commitment to stable long-term funding for housing has given The Netherlands perhaps the most exciting collection of contemporary building in Europe. This guide is not a comprehensive account of contemporary Dutch architecture, rather, the book is a personal selection of projects that exemplify the spirit of Dutch architecture today -- ranging from toy containers to large-scale housing and urban developments.
