Once a princess

About this book

With her breathtaking combination of passion and intrigue, Veronica Sattler writes a historical romance like no other. In this sparkling tale, she presents a hero who must learn the value of love, and a spirited heroine who is the only woman to teach him... A Princess In Danger Lord Randall Darnley, Marquis of Hawksrest, has only one aim in the tiny principality of Mirandeau--to protect the late regent's heirs from danger. But while one of the orphaned "children" he's sworn to safeguard is nearly a woman grown, it's clear that shy Princess Leonie is also terrified by some nameless threat. Posing as Hawk Randall, a palace guard, Rand is concerned only with her safety--until he is unexpectedly moved by her beauty. A Hero In Disguise With her uncle Roderick insisting that she is less than useless, nineteen-year-old Leonie is tempted to escape into her beloved books and avoid court circles altogether. Yet when she unearths a plot to kill her nine-year-old brother, the heir to the crown, she calls forth the courage to enlist the help of "Hawk" in their escape to England. She never imagines that he is not who he claims to be...or that his love is the one thing she will risk everything to win.
