From the farm in St. Louis to the mission fields of Africa, this autobiography traces the life and ministry of Dr. Willys Braun. Born in the Depression-era Midwest, Willys' life journey took him through Wheaton College, where he joined the great generation of career missionaries who bore the second wave of the gospel throughout the world. He and his wife, Thelma, traveled to the Belgian Congo by freighter during the dark days of World War II. In God's will, Africa became their home, a dearly beloved home. One African friend voiced a singular accolade near the end of their first term. "Tata Braun has a white skin," he said, "but he has a very black heart." The culmination of Willys Braun's journey was a God-driven effort to train lay pastors and evangelists to labor in fields which are still white for harvest. The great passion of his life was to obediently and faithfully follow the call he received while still a young man, uttered by God throughout time to all who will listen, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Me?"
